Magnetic Resonance Imaging Studies of Glaucoma and Non-Glaucomatous Optic Neuropathies
(Observational; Accepts Healthy Volunteer)

This research uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to study brain changes in patients with different stages of chronic glaucoma and non-glaucomatous optic neuropathies. Advanced MRI techniques are currently used to study the brain structure and function both in healthy individuals and in patients with a variety of diseases and conditions. Our aim is to measure the visual pathways of chronic glaucoma patients, using four different imaging techniques acquired with a FDA-approved 3-Tesla MRI system, and to compare with the visual pathways in patients with other non-glaucomatous optic neuropathies.
